A link suffices, but if the actual sources are not gigantic, it would
be convenient to have them in the hg repo.

Carlo, Jordi, thanks for your help. The actual sources already are in the hg repo and I am going to add permanent links into the generated files and leave the actual sources out of the package release tarball, because they will probably be of no interest to most users.
