When I discovered the opportunity to be involved in GSoC with Octave
Programme, I thought that is the perfect spot for me, as the intersection of my scientific interests: applied mathematics, physics, and computer science. I graduated from one of the best pure math schools of Russia and took several applied mathematics courses (numerical methods, mathematical optimization,
mathematical physics, modeling...). Later, I changed my focus to computer science to be able to apply these methods to reallife products.

I have production experience in the IT industry as a С/C++ developer for industrial controllers (lights, HVAC..) as well as a background in competitive programming. I have great experience with Octave: generally with Transportation theory and Optimization Methods. Now I am working in Software Engineering lab of Innopolis University on ByoDinamo project (brain simulator) in close collaboration with experts at CERN and a group of neuroscientists at Newcastle University. I believe this
is the kind of project you expect from the participants of the summer programme, and this experience  will help me in your project. Summing up, with a background in pure maths and physics, I think that I am a strong candidate for this position.

In short, I am a good team player with a curious mind, IT industry experience, and a strong background in applied mathematics. I sincerely hope that I'll have an opportunity to apply these at GSoC Summer programme with Octave this summer. The project that fascinated me the most is "Improve logm, sqrtm, funm", I hope I can get some future guides to insure you in my abilities.
