Uttam,

I have a recent radio (Hitec Eclipse 7 w/ Spectra) without a 3 position switch as well.  Like Pascal explained, it should be quite easy to implement a 3 position switch when you think about it in terms of each channel simply being a voltage divider (whether its a potentiometer dial or stick, or two position switches).  My radio has 2 analog dials and 2 two-position channel switches.  I suspect I could immediately replace one or more of the potentiometer dials with discrete resistors connected to a 3 position switch.  My only problem will be finding an aesthetically pleasing location to mount said switch =)  Take a look inside your radio and see if these channels do not become more obvious in how they are set up, you may be surprised how easy it will be.

Regards,
Matthew

I don't have a 3 position switch on my TX, maybe because its sort of old? I only have switches for idle up, a switch for retracts down, one dial for flaps, and dual rate 2 position switches. No 3 position switch. Can any one recommend a TX with a 3 position switch? Where are the 3 position switches used on the TX?

Sorry for so many q's!

-Thanks,
Uttam

I definitely suggest a switch.  If you have some sort of issue that requires taking the plane out of the current mode, turning a knob is not a good way to do so.  The last thing you want is to go to manual when you wanted auto1, or to not get out of the mode to begin with because you didnt dial in the right value.

No cursor available ?
It is usually easy to add a 3 position switch to a transmitter, using
resistor bridges ... and a scope to produce the appropriate signal.
