What button are you talking about ?
Did you compile the "sim" target for the current aircraft ?

  Other general question is that I am using Xubuntu as the OS, would you suggest
to change to Ubuntu? Because I can only use GUI in the XUbuntu, which makes me
difficult to follow all the command form the wiki.

There is not so much differences between a standard Ubuntu and the XUbuntu. The second one is probably a bit less cpu consuming (then recommended for the eeePC)
