Dear Follow Paparazzi

I was once ordered component from Halfbase $$$!!. My order was partially ship to me and was told that their was a problem with his manufacturer. He will send me the remains with my next order or resend it as soon as he able to obtain the remaining component. At that time he was responsive to my email and query even after first shipment. The Tiny2.11 is working fine but IR is not working at all, and was told that a replacement will be send. (this was during June-July) The order came with in 1-2weeks

During Aug-Sep we had problem with IR that I bought from David and use with Halfbase's tiny. I enquiry with Jeff and he still response. At the end I find out that the IR sensor from David had a bad soldering that at the end causing a opamp to pop-out from the board!!! but that is another story. We re solder all component and everything is working great now.

September-October we send reqeust to Halfbase that we need the remaining tiny2.11 and other component. ... He dissapeared..
I try to call him up in HK.. the TakLee trading.

First time I call asking for Halfbase. The operator says "No half Base" then hangup imidiately. That day I call again, this time I ask specific for Jeff. The operator struggling to ask me who am I. She reply me with no confidence (compare to the first call that I ask for halfbase), after I told her my name and that i'm calling from oversea and would to speak to Jeff. She told me that Halfbase is no longer exist and Jeff is no longer working their. Asked for other alternative that i could contact Jeff. She refuse to provide any other information regarding jeff.

My opinion is that Jeff is still working at TakLee but refusing to answer my call. Halfbase division gone bankcurrupt and Jeff not letting us know.

Jeff , if you out their and reading this email. Please show yourself
and explain your self to this community. You were once had good service..

If you having problems and cannot handle orders, we would appriciate if you refund us the remaining orders or what ever you could do.
You own this community moneys and explanation!.

Your sincerely
Tum.

Good call AJ.

2008/10/7 Mohit Mundhra <address@hidden>:
well me too in support of removing him from the wiki

I was the one who started this thread: "Order from HALFBASE ... ". I waited
for more than a month and he used to give reasons for not shipping and
promised shipping it in a week. After a long wait, I thought if some others
are facing such problems. And here I see that everyone is in the same boat.
I think we should remove his entry from the wiki and may be rather write
some comments so that people who reach on that through google or something
should atleast have a chance to read about him before they too place an
order.

I ordered the melexis thermopiles and put them on the board and they
worked. Yay. (Now I find out that my horizontal IR board that I got from
Mantis electronics is bad, but that's another story)

I placed another order with him, but PayPal won't let you complete the
order. I have tried contacting him and haven't heard anything for weeks.
It seems even his cell phone has been disconnected (though I can't confirm
since I don't speak... whatever language that was)

So in short, I support removing all mention of him from the wiki.

Cory,
Funny you should mention removing him. As I had just finished doing so
before checking my email again. There was a warning for people mentioned on
the wiki, but franky I see no reason to support someone who is a fraud on
the community wiki. If someone really has a problem removing him please
speak, but I think protecting potential users should be our first goal.

When I ordered from Halfbase, I received nothing, and the order never
left the processing status on his website. I waited for about 3 weeks.
Since he would not give any sort of confirmation of my order shipment,
I disputed the order with paypal. I was able to get my money back
   through paypal eventually.

Choe, unless you can get your money back from paypal, or your credit
card, you will probably get nothing.

I checked, and he has no activity on the wiki or mailing list for more
than a month. I would support removing him from the get hardware page.

Has anyone had positive experiences with halfbase? I know a few people
have received some of their order from him after a long wait, but has
anyone received their complete order in a timely fashion?

This board says do not use:

Does anybody know if it is still untested? any known or possible problems? anything else?

Thanks,

I tried repress it, it just won't work still, still giving me the error.

I tried to comment out all codes I've added, but it seems it still won't work
for some reason, what could be wrong?

Thanks, Brendan

Brendan,
I think I encountered this error. I fixed it by creating the /simsitl
directory as it was missing. Hope this helps. Regards, Mark

I think we all have similar bad experiences with halfbase, I am still waiting
on the cables ordered 4 month later, and he simple never shipped them. He also
said he would credit 10% to institutions, I am still waiting for the credit.
I support his removal as well. -------------- Original message from "cory barton" <address@hidden>: --------------
