Good call AJ.
2008/10/7 Mohit Mundhra <address@hidden>:
well me too in support of removing him from the wiki
I was the one who started this thread: "Order from HALFBASE ... ". I waited
for more than a month and he used to give reasons for not shipping and
promised shipping it in a week. After a long wait, I thought if some others
are facing such problems. And here I see that everyone is in the same boat.
I think we should remove his entry from the wiki and may be rather write
some comments so that people who reach on that through google or something
should atleast have a chance to read about him before they too place an
order.

I have, in the past, spoke for Jeffrey. I ordered a few things from him

able to file a change of address with USPS and did receive my order. My
order was correct, parts-wise. However, it seems he uses some non-melexis
IR thermopiles for the vertical IR sensor, and they did not work correctly.
I ordered the melexis thermopiles and put them on the board and they
worked. Yay. (Now I find out that my horizontal IR board that I got from
Mantis electronics is bad, but that's another story)
I placed another order with him, but PayPal won't let you complete the
order. I have tried contacting him and haven't heard anything for weeks.
It seems even his cell phone has been disconnected (though I can't confirm
since I don't speak... whatever language that was)
So in short, I support removing all mention of him from the wiki.

Cory,
Funny you should mention removing him. As I had just finished doing so
before checking my email again. There was a warning for people mentioned on
the wiki, but franky I see no reason to support someone who is a fraud on
the community wiki. If someone really has a problem removing him please
speak, but I think protecting potential users should be our first goal.

When I ordered from Halfbase, I received nothing, and the order never
left the processing status on his website. I waited for about 3 weeks.
Since he would not give any sort of confirmation of my order shipment,
I disputed the order with paypal. I was able to get my money back
through paypal eventually.
Choe, unless you can get your money back from paypal, or your credit
card, you will probably get nothing.
I checked, and he has no activity on the wiki or mailing list for more
than a month. I would support removing him from the get hardware page.
Has anyone had positive experiences with halfbase? I know a few people
have received some of their order from him after a long wait, but has
anyone received their complete order in a timely fashion?

This board says do not use:

Does anybody know if it is still untested? any known or possible
problems? anything else?
Thanks,
Buzz

I tried repress it, it just won't work still, still giving me the error.
I tried to comment out all codes I've added, but it seems it still won't work
for some reason, what could be wrong?
Thanks, Brendan

Brendan,
I think I encountered this error. I fixed it by creating the /simsitl
directory as it was missing. Hope this helps. Regards, Mark

I think we all have similar bad experiences with halfbase, I am still waiting
on the cables ordered 4 month later, and he simple never shipped them. He also
said he would credit 10% to institutions, I am still waiting for the credit.
I support his removal as well.
