Hey all

I verified that my receiver is working just by putting an LED and resistor on the ppm line and still couldn't get my RC link working at all. I even tried positive and negative pulses to see if that made a difference. I even used a transistor to reverse the polarity of the pulses still with no avail

Soooo I pulled the 5806 revision off the SVN and it worked like a charm. I  added another couple channels to the radio file to see if it would still work and that was fine but when I made a radio file with 9 channels it didn't work again. That made me think that possibly my transmitter was actually sending 8 pulses even though it is a 6 channel transmitter.... Went back to the latest revision, made a radio file with 8 channels and now life is good again.

Moral of the story is JR X2610 Transmitters send 8 pulses and if you have this problem buy an oscilloscope because it would be way easier to diagnose the problem.

Thanks for everyone's help

Todd

Revision: 5807

Log Message:
-----------
Improve ppm decoding on lpc21: a valid synchro is needed to validate a ppm frame
It also means that the number of channel between the radio and its config file has to match exactly
In radio control: several valid frame are needed to go back to RC_OK

Do you have the number of channels in your config matching ?

Eric

Mmmmm yeah that tells you that it's not working.
I am going to have to find an oscilloscope. Or write something to debug it because it clearly isn't working and it used to work. With that change in the PPM decoder is there any way to see how many channels are actually coming through so that i can make sure that it's not just cutting the link because the number of channels in the radio file is different to what is actually happening??

Still i would like to be able to change telemetry files anyway and currently if i change the files to others in the telemetry folder it wont compile. Does anyone else have this problem??

What about the R/C status box in the GCS?  Or do you need something a bit less binary?

Hey all

I was just trying to add some messages in the telemetry file so that i can check if my radio is actually getting through to paparazzi but it won't let me compile....
I only added:
<message name="RC" period="1.0"/>

am i doing something wrong? Is there a better way of working out what's happening with my RC link?

Thanks
Todd
