Hi Simon,

it might be worth considering buying a logic analyzer instead of a USB scope (especially since you will have access to a good scope when you really need it). A logic analyzer is sufficient (or superior to a scope) for most things you will need with paparazzi.
Have a look at http://www.saleae.com/logic/ (that's what I will probably get myself soon).

Cheers, Felix

Hi All,

One of my TWOGs seems to have a problem with UART1 and though I am
pretty sure it is faulty I would like to use a signal tester to verify
this. Seeing I am just a very part-time electronics fiddler (though I
do love it) I thought it might make sense to pick up an Oscilloscope
that won't cost me an arm and a leg.

So my question is would something like a USB Oscilloscope from
Parallax (http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=28014-ND)
be suitable for analyzing the Paparazzi boards? I understand it's
bandwidth of 200kHz is on the low side and that may mean it is
unsuitable, but I have no idea if this meets the bar for Paparazzi
hardware or not. I will have access to a "real" oscilloscope at my
company shortly but don't wont to have to bring my hardware in except
when I really need to.
