Hi Rui,

in "the early days" of Paparazzi the audio channel of the video downlink was
used for telemetry.

Not sure if you still can get those CMX modem chips for en/decoding. Later an
adapted version of the ham-radio 'multimon' software was used to decode the
telemetry with a sound card. It should still be somewhere in the software tree.

Using ready-to-go digital modems is definitely more fun.

Martin

Hi all, I would like to have a range of 50Km for my UAV. For it I can use: -
For RC control the Long Range EZUHF 433MHz system (someone archieved 80Km+
range);- For video transmission the PST1 PCB Video Transmitter [2.4GHz - 2 W]
from: http://www.advmw.com/uav_transmitter_pst1.html- And the data-link for the
paparazzi communication I'm using the Aerocomm 868MHz but is limited to 250mW
and have a duty Cycle of 10%. I have an ideia to improve the range of the
telemetry data-link for paparazzi. Maybe I can use the PST1 Video TX to send
also in the data carrier the telemetry data from paparazzi autopilot. And use
another modem system to carrier the link from the GCS to airborne. Maybe I can
use the XBee Pro 868MHz just to send the commands from the GCS to the airborne
autopilot. What you think? It's a good solution? Will work? It's easy to
implement? Please, give some sugestions about this issue. It would be nice to
archieve a mission UAV with a range of 50Km. Best regards
Rui Costa
