does it mean that I should use xbee_api telemetry type to get bidirectional communication ?
in my modem firmware the api mode was turned off

thanks all,

Also, your xbee modems should be configured for using xbee API communication mode. The configuration string is usually in the framework donfig file, but it can also be done manually and stored in the modems.

Looks like right now they work in serial mode.

Hi Imed,

If flipping the modems around didn't solve the problem, the modems should be correctly configured for bi-directional transmission.
Which telemetry file are you using, as there are issues with xbee 868s related to regulatory demands - specifically, them switching off after 6 minutes.
See http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/868MHz_Issues

Have you checked your hardware connections between the modem & the autopilot, specifically the TX output of the xbee (RX on the UART)?  If this cable were not connected, you'd get the symptoms you describe.

Cheers,
Gareth

Hi all,
my setup is:

  - yapa2
  - xbee868
  - ublox
  - IR Sensors

I am compiling paparazzi with standard XML inputs:
*- tunning_infrared.xml
- iridium.xml*

the telemetry is working fine from the A/P to the GSC during the fly
however it does not work from the GSC to the A/P. For example, I wanted to
modify some PID parameters (p_gain) and so but nothing occurs when I commit
the changes from the GSC. In addition I can not change the A/P mode from
the GSC. My question is the following, how can I debug this problem can I
print some debug message to understand if it is a hardware or a software
problem (I tried to switch the position of the modems but nothing changed)?
could this be a problem in the configuration of the modems ?

thanks all.
