Hi Arni,

Sorry, came up against this exact issue recently on a fresh Ubuntu 12.04 but forgot to tell you!
You need to add your user to the modems group, then log out and in again.

Cheers,
Gareth

Hi guys

I am still trying to fix the serial communication on my tiny v/2.11

I still get the error

And the Datalink is:
/home/notandi/paparazzi/sw/ground_segment/tmtc/link -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 57600

I already copied the 50-paparazzi rules like described on wiki but I am not quite sure what to do with it then.

If you could give some helps or tips how to troubleshoot it would be higly appreciated :)

regards Arni

Hi Gareth
Thanks for the reply.

here is the dmesg
[ 9460.624738] ftdi_sio 5-1:1.0: device disconnected
[ 9462.848206] usb 5-1: new full-speed USB device number 9 using uhci_hcd

[ 9481.325430] usb 5-1: Number of endpoints 2
[ 9481.325437] usb 5-1: Endpoint 1 MaxPacketSize 64
[ 9481.325443] usb 5-1: Endpoint 2 MaxPacketSize 64
[ 9481.325449] usb 5-1: Setting MaxPacketSize 64
[ 9481.327362] usb 5-1: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0

it´s using ttyUSB0 so that shouldn´t be an issue.
any other ideas, think it could help to reinstall everything from scratch?

regards Arni

Hi Arni,

Can you post the output of running 'dmesg' in a terminal window just after
plugging in your usb to serial convertor?
It's possible your other laptop has an internal modem or something which
is assigned /dev/ttyUSB0, in which case your xbee would be /dev/ttyUSB1.
dmesg will show the device file that is assigned to your xbee.

The warnings mean exactly what they say :) - the direction of control
gains was recently changed to match aerospace convention. If you aren't
using an old airframe file you made it shouldn't be an issue. If you are,
double check all your control surfaces before flight.

Cheers,
Gareth
