Hi Chris,

I can flash on 12.04 without problems... you need to be a member of the plugdev group (add yourself if not already the case).

Can you please check your udev rules file if it contains the line
ATTR{manufacturer}=="Transition Robotics Inc.", ATTR{product}=="Lisa/M (Upgrade)*", GROUP="plugdev"
If yes, can you plz test if it works if you change it to
ATTR{manufacturer}=="Transition Robotics Inc.", ATTR{product}=="Lisa/M (Upgrade)*", MODE="0666", GROUP="plugdev"

Cheers, Felix

Hi and thank you very much for your time and help.
I am already a member of dialout and plugdev groups  but no luck.
I also checked the udev rules and everything is fine.
I know i may sound strange but i am a little frustrated with 12.04 LTS
I think Ubuntu 12.04 is a precise fail, too many problems with too many programs
like Eagle, the computer freezes  etc and i am not the only one...
I think i will revert back to 10.04 which is i think the best of all.
Chris

Try adding your user to the 'dialout' group and start a new login
process or just reboot.
