I also checked VBUS: 3,3V between R8 & R13.

Hi,

my Umarim Lite v2 board suddenly stopped working and I have no idea why.

What happened:
The board was running fine with a very basic software for a couple of days.
I decided to build a new software with some smaller changes, connected it via USB to the laptop, did a powercycle and ... nothing.

a) First idea, flashing failed, so I tried again and again and again, but flashing didn't work.
I checked /var/log/syslog (or dmesg), but the laptop (Ubuntu 12.10) doesn't detect the board at the USB port.

b) Next idea, maybe a broken bootloader:
Connected PPZUAV TFDI Utility board to UART0(disconnected GPS), P0.14 to GND, power on and a
$ make upload_bl PROC=GENERIC

The display showed the same result as described here: http://paparazzi.enac.fr/w/images/thumb/Shell_bootloader_upload_success.jpg/180px-Shell_bootloader_upload_success.jpg
so I think that worked.

c) So the processor seems to be working, I checked 5V and 3.3V and the crystal produces a very clear 12 MHz signal.

d) I reconnected the board to the PC, checked dmesg, but nothing. No signs of life!
The Umarim has another USB connector via Molex, tried this too with same negative result.

e) Than I found this: Serial flashing
http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/Compiling#Serial_Flashing

Conneted the FTDI board to the autopilot via UART0, P0.14 to GND, power on and I tried
make AIRCRAFT=TwinStar_Umarim ap.upload FLASH_MODE=ISP
Well, a lot of dots, but no flashing of the board.
Interestingly it says: no USB device (FTDI is found at ttyUSB0 and user is part of dialout group)

My questions:
- does anyone has an idea what I could check, test, measure, nameit?
- does serial flashing really work?
- did the first procedure make the right bootloader?
- does the bootloader give a kind of "hello world" via UART0/1?
- did I miss something?
- It looks to me, that the processor is running (crystal makes a clear signal, bootloader programming works)
-
I already tried a second laptop and USB cable

Thanx for help!
    Steffen
