Hi,

I'm still using gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_7-2013q3 (didn't have a reason to update...).
Quite a few people are using either the 4.8 that is in official ubuntu repo now or the gcc-arm-embedded 4.8 version and afaik there were no problems/bugs encountered so far...
Would be good to know which bugs the pixhawk guys mean, if they still not fixed and if they affect us...

Cheers, Felix

Hello

I changed it some time ago from 4.7 to 4.8, didn't know about the bugs.

Changed it back to 4.7q2 in the wiki.

Hi Felix,
i forgot to do a new login.
It works fine now.
It would  nice i if you put again your fixed wing example the discovery  in the master branch again.
I saw that now the 4.8 Version of the c-compiler is used.
There is a waning to use the 4.8 Versions  in the pixhawk-project
 (https://pixhawk.org/dev/toolchain_installation_lin):
Do not use newer ARM tool chain (eg. 4.8), as there are known bugs in GCC 4.8 affecting the ARM architecture, until properly tested PX4 uses 4.7 version below
Is this warming old?
I am currently testing a eclipse tool chain for ubuntu 12.04 whit the debugger for c-code .
It is a hard way to install  (Luna Version of eclipse,. 4.8.2 ARM toll chain, JEK 1.7, openocd version 9) but its runs perfect after 2 days of work.
The problem is that if versions are deinstalled  there are are really on the system  and prevent  to execute the new version.
This happened for eclipse openocd  etc.

Hi Heinrich,

when you get an error can you please also post the actual error? That makes it much easier...

Hi,
in the dokuwiki is a set-up for flashing over the st-link of the discoveryF4 pcb
I follow the description.
When i set the makefile to st-link a error occurs.
Perhaps the installing process of the st-link is not in order.
Its generates a error message it i use the upload button on the paparazzi  ground station
The  programming over the mini usb is running.
