moving the cat and its subs was added to head
=================== BUG #1286: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================
Submitted by: zeut Project: phpGroupWare
Submitted on: 2002-Sep-27 17:31
Category: API - Admin Bug Group: 0.9.14 release
Severity: 5 - Major Priority: High
Resolution: Later Assigned to: ceb
Status: Closed Component Version: None
Platform Version: Linux - RedHat Reproducibility: Every Time
Summary: Category Problems
Original Submission: I was editing my global categories and ran into the
following problems. Here are the steps to reproduce.
1. Create new Global category called foo
2. Create new category bar, with parent foo.
3. Everything looks OK so far.
4. Edit category foo, and give it a parent.
5. Category bar no longer shows up in the list.
6. Try to recreate category bar as a sub of foo, but I get an error saying that
bar already exists.
It seems to me that if I change the parent of a category, all of it's sub
categories should come along with it, or at least error out and say that you
can't change the parent since there are dependents.

now it works that way the category, where the parent_cat got updated, moves to
the tree of the new parent and all of its subcats move one level down. i will
keep it in mind as a feature request to move the cat plus its subs to the tree
of the new parent.
