LOCK is seperate permission DB permissions and is used in phpgw to ensure
consistance, which is not needed in setup as it's a single user type of
environment.
GRANT ALL gives LOCK but some shared hosts don't give you this by default.
There is no work around, you must have LOCK permission or corrupt data is
imminent.
This is a config issue and not a bug.

Submitted by: derricklo Project: phpGroupWare
Submitted on: Sun 11/02/03 at 20:39
Category: API - Admin Bug Group: 0.9.16RC1
Severity: 5 - Major Priority: High
Resolution: Invalid Assigned to: None
Status: Closed Component Version: TGZ
Platform Version: None Reproducibility: Every Time
Summary: Database error: lock(Array, write) failed.
Original Submission: Hi,
I have installed phpgroupware 0.9.16.RC1, and successfully setup "Header Admin"
and "Config Admin". A db and about 193 tables were created.
PHP Version 4.3.2
Mysql Version 4.0.15-standard
When I tried to login as the new admin user, I got the following error:
"Database error: lock(Array, write) failed.
MySQL Error: 1044 (Access denied for user: 'address@hidden' to database
'matrixu_gw')
Session halted."
Does not seems to be a permission, as 193 tables were created. Is there a
locking issue? Does anyone knows how to resolve this?? Thanks!
Best Regards,
Derrick Lo

is this hosted?
are you sure that you have grant lock enabled for the user?
