Summary:  I want to use Inventory in version 0.9.16

Original Submission:  Hello,

sorry this post is made with the maximum of care I can produce by now 
(regarding that I have not too much time to read and search any post and webs 
because I am very busy to finish my current project). If I have missed some big 
info please make me know and if possible give the reference. 

I have discovered the last 0.9.16 release (installed 001, and RC3) with big 
expectations (please read my second post: "phpgroupware at university in 
indonesia: ideas") and I am very disapointed to see that inventory application 
has been dropped out. Is it temporary off or this module will definitively not 
be part of phpgroupware anymore? 
The notice on the news is not clear enough (for me :-|)

Here is a short overview on whats new:

3 new applications: javassh, fudforum and folders //wouah, seems good, very 
good...
property, inventory and brewer have been removed" // ouch, I was planing with 
inventory...

As Bettina Gille still mentions that Inventory is part of her activities I like 
to hope that is still valid and phpgroupware will have a (friendly and not too 
complex) Inventory Management tool integrated.

May I have not encounter the Inventory module which will be now include in 
another application?
I have tried to import the "inv" folder from older versions (0.9.13 of debian 
allmost works but some table columns and names have changed since then 
(disributors), 0.9.14 version is warned about dependencies conflict and is not 
allowed to be installed). Is there any tricks or recommendation about the 
"good" version that still can be used in 0.9.16?

I have been (quickly) testing arround the third-party extensions... the 
CK-inventory of ck-ledger seems to be stable, but it is very more (too :-) 
professional with its taxes and stuff that my targeted users will not accept. 
Any Tips or recommendation? (sorry to ask: maybe you know other inventory 
manager written in PHP or Java? :+0)

In my present job, I plan to integrate phpgroupware. When I chose it, beside of 
key elements (GPL,LDAP,PHP,Translations,...), the detail consisting in phpgw 
had an inventory management system
push not to doubt anymore... now I have to tell that I am a bit confused.

As I will detail in my second post, I am very interested to be a collaborator 
of phpgroupware, but I still unsure about my availabilities in the next times...

you can try adding 0.9.16 to the phpgwapi version in the setup  for inv, but 
that's still no guarentee that it'll work.  I din't know that ceb claimed inv, 
i though it was unmaintained.
