Summary:  "Database is not working" even after database has been set up

Original Submission:  I am attempting to install on Windows XP Professional 
with PHP 5.0 and MySQL 4.1.  IN the configuration it insists that "Database is 
not working" ... when I click to set up the database, it appears to work fine, 
but then goes back to the page saying that database isn't working, when it is 
indeed on the server!

Help?!?
