No somehow it never works if I remove them myself and then call cvs remove. Using remove -f is the only way to get it working (don't ask me why, I don't know). The problem stems from the fact that I usually remove the files with rm to see wheter they are still used somewhere and then I've got to do a cvs update to get them back before removing them.
