Error on compiling pspp-0.4.0

Hi,

I got the following configure error on trying to compile the code.

checking for inline... (cached) inline
checking for off_t... (cached) yes
checking for short... yes
checking size of short... configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (short), 77

The confi.log is send in  attached file.
