I suggest that we change the current text to read:

"Ben Pfaff wrote the initial program and manual. The syntax
 interpreter, core libraries, data transformation and  procedure
 engine and the output subsystem were conceived and implemented by Ben.
 Ben is the current maintainer of the project."
