make check fails in on OBSD, with this message:

$ ./src/ui/terminal/pspp /tmp/pspp-tst-1/mytest.sps
Warning: cannot create a convertor for "646" to "UTF-8": Invalid argument

proximate cause:     Segmentation Violation
version: GNU pspp 0.4.3 (Thu Aug 16 11:22:27 EDT 2007).
host_system:         i386-unknown-openbsd4.1
build_system:        i386-unknown-openbsd4.1
default_config_path: $HOME/.pspp:/home/jhs/etc/pspp
include_path:        ./:$HOME/.pspp/include:/home/jhs/share/pspp
locale_dir:          /home/jhs/share/locale
compiler version:    3.3.5 (propolice)

I put it in gdb and tried to get a backtrace in gdb, but the syntax
ran fine in gdb, so I'm not sure what the trouble is.
