Hi John (this answer on pspp-dev)

Thanks for the research. I see on the internet as a solution:
 del C:\USERS\%USER%\.recently-used.xbel
 mkdir C:\USERS\%USER%\.recently-used.xbel

Does that function or is there another nasty error back?

Have fun

If I delete the file C:\USERS\%USER%\.recently-used.xbel then it starts up
fine.  That is, until I load a new file, upon which it crashes again.

After that I find that .recently-used.xbel has been recreated and I must delete e it again.  So it looks as if it's a problem with the recent manager.

I suggest that we move this discussion to pspp-dev as it has now moved beyond a user discussion.
