No idea. Are only some icons not found? Are you refering to the warning below?

I fixed the problem that selected cells are not highlighted. With the fix the behaviour is more compliant to the style handling. (Pushed today.)

Mmmh. No idea. The gtk3 branch and the master branch are very close today, i.e. there is only one bug fix in master (not related to your crash) which is not in gtk3.

- There is no flash screen at the start

Some parts are disabled in the gtk3 branch, e.g. the splash screen. 

I use GTK+ 3.14.2 and I install it for use with PSPP on MSWindows. So I don't think it is interesting what is standard in MSWindows (but you never know what Microsoft does. :-) )

Ah, I looked here: http://www.gtk.org/download/win64.php for the gtk3 version on windows.

Errors I get are for example:

Is this maybe related to some not installed system icons: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/issues/34337 Just a guess.
