Oh well, ratpoison still relies on xterm...
To be honest, I like both ideas (#ifdefing and binding). However,
bindig sounds a little bit better. That way one can easily redefine
it if date does not work (*shiver*), while if it's ifdefed, one will
have to edit the sources.
