A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Bart De Schuymer <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Ethernet bridge tables
System name: ebtables
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
ebtables is an ethernet filter which has a userspace interface very similar to
the iptables interface.
ebtables is useful on a Linux bridge on which you wish to filter traffic. With
this utility you can filter _all_ traffic passing the bridge. Filtering is done
on the ethernet frame header. For IP packets some basic IP filtering can be
done. Future development will probably mainly be supporting filtering for other
protocols (e.g. vlan).
ebtables consists of a kernel module and the usespace tool. It uses the
netfilter functionality provided in the 2.4.x kernels. Not compatible with
2.2.x.
