An xterm or rxvt -like terminal emulator but with a twist ;)

It uses OpenGL (Mesa, DRI) for display and is able to do distortion-
oriented Focus+Context views where the area around the mouse and
terminal cursor are magnified compared to the rest of the window. 
This allows displaying more text at the same time.

I currently have a very rough draft and will publish 0.01 RSN.
