This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

Derniere is a projet that will allow real-time video editing using AVI and MPEG 
1/2 video format and CVR, VBR, and AC3 MP3 audio format. It will make possible 
to mix arbitrary Audio/Video streams, will have a plugin-based real-time filter 
system and will have support for grabbing video and sound through video4linux 
supported devices.

We are currently 3 CS/IT students working on the project (our school can be 
visited online at http://www.epita.fr), and given the modular aspect of the 
codebase we think many people will want to contribute to it.

Our goal is to create a GPL equivalent for existing software such as commercial 
Adobe Premiere (http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/main.html)or GPL but 
windows-only Virtual Dub (http://www.virtualdub.org/) that would run under 
GNU/Linux .

We are currently in the process of designing the application and hoping to rely 
on savannah to provide a functional cvs and web access and visibility.
