Package: Hambo
System name: hambo
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

This project is going to be a freely available Java software package that 
includes a modularized application platform. The project will also include some 
web, WAP and SMS applications that can easily be deployed with the application 
platform.

The application platform will depend on a servlet container that conforms to 
the Servlet API Specification standard, version 2.2 or later. This way, the 
platform and the applications can be deployed as WARs (Web Application 
Archives) in the servlet container of your choice (be it free or commercial).
 
Right now our platform depends on the open source Enhydra Java/XML application 
server as servlet container, which does not conform to the standard. However 
we\'re going to get rid of Enhydra dependencies, so we can move to the standard 
servlet engine format.

At the moment most of the software does not work with any free database 
servers, only the commericial Sybase and Oracle servers. Although, we\'re going 
to fully support MySQL in a near future.

The software package Hambo does exist. However, we haven\'t set up a site yet 
for anyone to download it.
