A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Julien Gilli <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Distributed Make System
System name: dms
Type: 2
Description:
This project is aimed at distributing compilation processes
in a network in order to reduce the time that it takes
to build a program and to be able to build a program on different
architectures (not easily affordables, etc.).
First, we want to be able to compile C programs with gcc and to
distribute the process on a LAN to increase the speed of the build process.
We\'ll then add features as problems arise and development progress.
In the future, we especially would like to focus on security and intelligent
use of resources. We also would like to distribute
jobs in a Wan or the Internet, in a peer-o-peer way, to be able
to build programs for differents architectures (SPARC, x86, etc.).
We use the Python language and the PyUnit framework for unit testing.
It does not exist yet but we are working on it.
Other Software Required:
Our project requires the use of the Python interpreter only, since
PyUnit is integrated in it. It requires that the user has GNU make
installed on his system.
