Package: GNU FreeMedia
System name: gnufreemedia

Description:
GNU FreeMedia Project

In participating in the indymedia.org project, I have found there to be
critical flaws caused by reliance upon unix/linux software which will hamstring
the growth and prosperity of the independent media movement worldwide.
Therefore, it is necessary to immediately start the process to create software
using the GNU Hurd OS.

This software would be capable of transmitting text, pictures, and audio/video
feeds to users. It would not require the organizational hierarchies currently
required in the current model in order for media providers to distribute their
content to their audience. It would be designed with delivery of news and
public affairs content in mind

This project is in pre-Alpha planning stages.

Other Software Required:
The GNU Hurd OS, primarily coded in C,
