Marius Vollmer <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Gtk language bindings for Guile
System name: guile-gtk
Type: non-GNU

Description:
This project provides glue code to access the Gtk+ libraries from Guile. It
adresses both the widgets, functions, etc contained in the basic Gtk+
distribution as well as additonal libraries such as the ones from Gnome.

The glue code is automatically generated from a high level description of the
exported features of a library. The generated glue is well adapted to the
Scheme world in the sense it is robust in the face of programmer errors and
performs accurate memory management without extra hints.

The glue code is ready to be used in a threaded program and can make use of a
background event processing thread. This allows, for example, to run the
normal Guile readline repl concurrently with the normal Gtk+ event loop.

There are two branches of development: a mature one for Gtk+ 1.2 and an
evolving one for Gtk+ 2.0.

It already exists and you can download the latest distribution at
http://www.ping.de/sites/zagadka/guile-gtk/download/

Other Software Required:
Guile
Gtk+
