No, it cannot be "fixed" as it's absolutely not unwanted
behavior (that you have to type your passphrase).
But it typing your passphrase is "cumbersome", it means that
your passphrase is a bad passphrase. A passphrase or a
password should be easy and fast to type (without being too
simple).

Typing my 25-character ssh passphrase is rather
cumbersome. Is there any way to fix it so I don't have
to use a passphrase from my machine?
