I'm afraid that we'll probably do not do this soon.  
 
The search tools is usefull when you know what you are looking 
for. If you are browsing to find new software, Savannah is not the 
right place because Savannah is not a database of all free 
software existing. 
 
For this purpose, there's the free software directory 
http://www.gnu.org/directory/ 
 
Check it.

I spent 15 minutes looking for a way to see what 
software you host at Savannah.  I found a brute force 
list of what I assume was over 1000 packages but that 
is of little use.

I looked in vain for some top level structure to the 
programs supported.

Please either (1) make the table of contents easier to 
find, or (2) add the missing table of contents 
(organized by category, subcategory, etc.)
