Hi,
Please conform to the instruction given at
http://savannah.gnu.org/cvs/?group=gnuspeech
For instance, your user should be anoncvs, not annoymous.

I'm using TortoiseCVS for the simple task of
downloading some files that in understand
are accesible to the general public using anonymous
access.
Anyway, when I try to access the software in the
public CVS directory via
CVS Checkout, things don't go right.
Here are my settings under the Module tab in
TortoiseCVS
CVSRoot :pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/g
nuspeech
Protocol: pserver
Port (Is Blank)
Repository Folder: /cvsroot/gnuspeech
User name: annoymous
Module: trillium
Here is the error report info:
n C:CVSROOT: cvs95 -q checkout -P trillium
CVSROOT=:pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/gn
uspeech
cvs95 checkout: Empty password used - try 'cvs login'
with a real password
cvs95 [checkout aborted]: Error reading from server
savannah.gnu.org: -1:
No such file or directory
Error, CVS operation failed
I have gotten similar error messgaes for other
modules, and for the entire
directory using "." in the module blank.
Any hints as to what I am doing wrong?
I have posted a similar question in the TortoiseCVS
user's gtoup.
