Summary: [waiting for software update] pre-fill fields on "submit a
Original Submission:
One of the menu entries within GNU Backgammon redirects
the user to the "submit a bug" web page, and it would
be very cool if it was possible to pre-fill some of the
fields on the page, e.g., build, release, and operating
system.
Is it that possible?
We've tried
http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=addbug&group=gnubg&category_id=105&priority=Normal&custom_tf1=030526&details=test+text
but that doesn't seem to work.

It is in the CVS development branch. It will be available
when Savannah will be running that version.

Ok. It's interesting, I'll look into that (we're working
on the bug tracker right now).

I'm not sure what you mean? By adjusting the "rank" values I
can ensure that one particular value is selected per default
for /all/ users.
However, I would like to do it dynamically; when the user
selects the menu entry "report bug" in GNU Backgammon his
browser is opened and redirected to the "submit a bug"-page.
For users using the linux version of GNU Backgammon
0.13-devel, I would like the page to be pre-filled with
release "0.13-devel" and platform "linux". For a user using
GNU Backgammon 0.12 for wintendo98 I would like the page to
be pre-filled with release "0.12" and platform "windows98".
By adding, say, platform_id=105 to the URL I hoped that
platform_id 105 would be pre-selected in the drop-down
instead of the one with the lowest rank. As this doesn't
seem to work I was wondering whether there was another way
of doing this?
