I have added Drew Hess as a Cc to this ticket.
The ftp-upload system in place on Savannah is incomplete. I
apologize
for that. We needed to get something in place quickly so that people
could upload files at all. Unfortunately it lacks a way to delete or
rename files (not to mention directories). We would like to put a
web interface in its place, but don't have the programming resources
to create one immediately.
Drew, I believe you have been experiencing two problems:
1) Some of the files you uploaded were signed with a key that is
not in the OpenEXR project keyring.
2) The system does not allow you to replace a file that already
exists. This is a result of the upload program's GNU lineage
where once a package is released that release will never change.
Until we can complete a file management interface, we suggest that
you use version numbers or dates in your filenames to make them
unique. Please let me know if you need any previously uploaded files
deleted.

We think this is a spurious, non-fatal error message.
