[Savannah-hackers] Re: Problems with gcc.gnu.org/sources.redhat.com

Are there still troubles with checking out GCC right now?

Paul sent this report some days ago:
"* Investigated an outage of savannah this past week. CVS checkouts of
GCC were hanging and used up all the memory on the machine. A
reboot was necessary to fix the problem. There's no clear
indication why the problem arose, but it could be related to the
nighly rsync of the GCC sourcecode.

* Investigated a hard drive on savannah that gave an I/O error and was
kicked out of the RAID array. After passing a long running SMART
test, and having shown no other errors, the disk was put back into
 the RAID array."

Hello,

There are some problems at the moment with the
gcc.gnu.org/sources.redhat.com
machine. (see here[1] for more information.) IMO all rsync updates
of
sources from the aformentioned machine should be put on hold until the

overseers there resolve these issues.

Perhaps this might also explain why a lot of users are experiencing
problems
with the gcc repo here on Savannah. Maybe someone there should be
contacted[2], too.

Regards,
Elfyn
