Pablo Souza Grigoletti <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Python-XSC - Python for Extended Scientific Computing
System name: python-xsc
Type: non-GNU

Description:
In the Computational Mathematics the user cannot affirm the exactness of the
result without an error analysis, being this extensive and not always viable.
The Intervalar Mathematics searchs to give has supported to these problems,
having allowed to have a rigorous control of the error in the results.

This project has as main objective to develop a module for the Python
programming language, called Python-XSC (Python for Extended Scientific
Computing), with the purpose to facilitate the development of softwares for the
Scientific Computation's area.

Initially, the Python-XSC module will be composed by some classes that provide
the user to work with the Intervalar Mathematics (trigonometrical functions,
addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ...), to allow the users of
the area of Computational Mathematics they can develop its activities in
different platforms presenting equal results, therefore the language Python is
independent of platform.

This project if justifies therefore the majority of the language that
implements functionality XSC does not possess the easinesses presented by the
Python language.

Currently, source-code does not exist to be presented.

Other Software Required:
Perhaps beyond the functionality built-in of the Python language, the following
modules of the Python are used:
- Numeric
- Numarray
- wxPython
- py2exe

Also software NSIS can be used (Nullsoft Scriptable Install System).
