Sebastien Guiheneuf <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: gtktab
System name: gtktab
Type: non-GNU

Description:
First, excuse my English :(

I want to program a guitar tablature editor/player for GNU/Linux because I
think there is a lack of It under this operating system.
I was thinking to use the KGuitar (http://kguitar.sf.net) or gnometab
(http://www.solutionm.com/gnometab/gnometab.html) sourcecode and improve it but
those projects are in a quite sad state and I think it will be easier to start
coding a new software from scratch.

I want a good guitar tab editor under gnu/linux, because a lot of windows users
(guitarists) dont want to use Gnu/linux because there is no good software for
reading or playing tablatures.. They all uses guitarpro under windows or try to
use it with wine :(
My software will be compatible with the file-format of guitarpro, I think this
is the most important point to convince people using GNU/Linux.

In a first time the software will only display the tablature and perhaps It'll
be possible to edit it. Later (if I find enough support) I'll try to play the
music.

For the moment I have no sourcecode to show, I have only done a very small
guitarpro file parser. I want to create a new project to find people who will
help me because I haven't a lot of free time :(

Thank you for your attention, I hope my project will interest you.

Other Software Required:
GTK+-2
