It looks like texmacs does not host their files on gnu's ftp server, from the 
looks of it.

After looking, it seems the files you want are available on their website here: 
http://www.texmacs.org/tmweb/download/sources.en.html

Summary:  link on texmacs homepage to the Filelist(Download area) is broken

Original Submission:  I can't access the download area to trial TexMacs - 
unusual since it is such an important link :-) It either means that it is a 
very recent "break" or nobody bothers downloading the package.
