Follow-up Comment #2, support #103941 (project administration):
Actually this is not the case, because "Status" has "System" scope. Hence
there is no option to add new values. There are field values with "Project"
scope, for example "Release", "Fixed release" and "Category", but "Status" is
not such a field. See the attached screenshot demonstrating the lack of an
option to add a new status.
