Follow-up Comment #1:
Hi,
The umask is already set to 002 at download.savannah.gnu.org.
Unfortunately the default SCP behavior seems to keep the same permissions
than the original files at the first upload.
So you can:
- either chmod g+w the file to upload before uploading it
- use rsync or sftp to chmod the permissions after the upload - beware, this
can be tricky, check sr #105838
