Follow-up Comment #1:

It appears this ticket slipped through the cracks due to the problems Savannah
suffered in a file uid:gid spin when it was copied.  Apologies for the delay. 
I just found it in the ticket list.

On the 6th, the day before your ticket posted, Savannah's storage volume was
copied.  This was done incorrectly and it spun the uid and gid of all of the
system directories.  This broke email terribly.  I believe that is what you
were seeing.  This was fixed later that weekend.  Then worse there was a
global site networking problem that persisted for several more days preventing
people from doing basic operations such as logging into the web site or
pulling files.  Those were also eventually fixed.  And then later there was a
disk corruption issue due to a hardware fault.  When it rains it pours!

Are you still seeing this problem? I think all of those problems are fixed
now.  Hopefully yours too.
