Follow-up Comment #3:

Sorry but just reading this now later.  Luis Falcon reported this on IRC
earlier and it was then fixed.  After the all night long network outage at the
data center things had gotten into a bad state on two of the systems.  Note
that the VMs have their root file system on network attached storage.  So when
the network is offline the root storage is also blocking.  In this case for
eight hours.

I restarted the MTA on the two systems that were failing.  But then earlier
today rebooted all of the Savannah VMs so as to reset anything else that might
have also been failing but that we didn't know about yet.  So it should all be
good to go now.

Thank you for the problem report.  It was through a problem report that this
problem was found.  Because email is so reliable that most alerts are sent by
email.  So when email stops then it is easy to go unnoticed.
