I cannot reproduce this particular combination of cvs on that particular
server system.  But I do not doubt that your report of this problem.  The way
shared hosting works will be sharing that server with other systems that are
being hit very hard from the Internet right now from a large botnet attack.
Probably and unfortunately that system was "browned out" during the time you
experienced that problem.

Good that you were using the ssh protocol as that has generally been more
operational during these times.  At this moment I can only say that all of the
systems are getting hit pretty hard and the shared LAN and shared hosting
causes leakage from virtual machine to virtual machine.

I can only suggest right now to try it again.  I am sure that it will work
upon a retry.

this is reminding me that I need to keep an eye on this server along with the
others.
