Hi Michael,
As I told you before, we do not accept mirroring in Savannah and as
you wrote me, you just want host your project at Savannah to announce
it and this isn't the main idea of Savannah, so if Savannah will not
be your primary development platform, please consider the idea of not
host your project here. The only solution that I see here it's that we
must reject your submission, are you agree with this? or you will
choose Savannah as your primary development platform?
Please, any other answer write it to the tracker and not sending it by
email.
Regards,

Hmmm.... that's a bad idea. LCD4Linux is known under this name for about
5 years now. I don't think changing the name is a good idea....

Hmmmm again... we ar in progress of moving from SF, but to a (at the
moment private) host running Trac, a software project management tool.
Mainly because Trac provides a wiki, we are using this for documentation
issues (and it's great!).
Maybe this is kind of a misunderstanding on my side: I'm not looking for
a host for my project, but trying to announce it at a lot of different
places (like freshmeat). I got a pointer to savannah from my girlfriend
(you know, I'm luckily having a geek girlfriend :-)

Well, these are good points. I'll fix them anyway.
btw, I just found a source file where I "borrowed" some code from
another GPL project. The copyright message reads:
Copyright (c) 1997-2002 Jean Tourrilhes <address@hidden>
Am I allowed th change a foreign copyright message? I don't think so....

Sorry, don't get me wrong, but I'm neither willing to change the name
nor the hosting on the Trac server.
If there's any other way of listing my project on savannah, please let
me know.
Thanks for your your hints anyway!
bye, Michael

LCD4Linux is a small daemon which collects various information and displays
it on an external liquid crystal display. LCD4Linux supports about 20
different display models, and is built around the so called 'evaluator',
which evaluates mathematical and string expressions. LCD4Linux uses 'Plugins'
which simply add functions to the evaluator. All the data collection functions
and some special functions that geek displays provide (temperature
measurement, fan speed reporting and controlling, ..) are implemented as
plugins.

Hi Michael,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.
As a policy of Savannah, we do not accept projects with the 'Linux'
word inside of them because this will produce some confusion in the
user, could you change the name for another one? we can change the
name during the approval process.
You have your project hosted at SF.net, we do not accept mirroring in
Savannah, this means that Savannah should be your primary development
platform. You have to remove your project from SF.net or marked as
'relocated', following this, please provide us with information about
the removal or relocated process in SF.net.
Related to the source code, you have the '(C)' missing in all your
Copyright notice, remember that you should use the '(C)' with an upper
case C and you cannot use a range of years in the Copyright
notice. You have the Copyright and License notice missing in
lcd4linux.xpm, consider to fix this.
In order to learn more about the GNU GPL, consider to read this URL:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html
To avoid confusions about how to apply a proper Copyright and License
notice, consider to read these URLs:
http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html
http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/License-Notices.html
If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide
us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project. Upon review, we
will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.
