  (first of all, excuse me for the quality of my english, i'm a french
canadian)



The project i want to propose is a new product management suite compose of
differente parts. These parts are, product data manager (PDM), product life
cycle manager (PLC)and a computer aided design software (CAD). The
architecture of this suite is based on the Object Management Group standard
for application and iso STEP (the Standard for the Exchange of Product Model
Data). The project is at desing state at the moment, but all the requirement
studie was complete. It will be decided to use all free software library to
built this new system. The first issue of the desing for this project is the
portabylity, for achive that i chose to use CORBA and ACE. The orb for the
project will be TAO. All the transaction, persistence, security and object
service will be guaranty by TAO. The first part of the project will be the
PDM, the second the PLC and the last CAD. So i would like to reserve, if is
posible, GNU-PDM, GNU-PLC and GNU-CAD as a name for these softwares.
