Description:
------------
Normalize is a tool for adjusting the volume of audio files to a standard
volume level. This is useful for things like creating mix CDs and MP3
databases, where different recording levels on different albums can cause the
volume to vary greatly from song to song. Normalize operates on all audio
files supported by libaudiofile, as well as MP3 files with the use of the MAD
library. Ogg vorbis and flac support is currently being worked on.
The current homepage is http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~cvaill/normalize , and the
most recent stable code is at
http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~cvaill/normalize/normalize-0.7.6.tar.gz .
All code is written in C, but a wrapper script written in perl is also
included.
Other Software Required:
------------------------
No dependencies are required, but normalize can use the following software
if present:
MAD library (http://www.underbit.com/products/mad/)
audio file library (http://www.68k.org/~michael/audiofile/)
XMMS (http://www.xmms.org/)
Also, the current distribution includes a wrapper script that uses perl.
