Description:

  The Librarian is a library (the place where we borrow books) management
application, which uses the GTK+/GNOME libraries for GUI and MySQL as the
RDBMS. The application is written in C using GCC.

I started this project primarily keeping in mind the needs of my college's
library. However I feel that it would fit into the needs of most other
libraries in the world once it is complete.

The Librarian is deigned to run on a network. A user can log into the MySQL
server using the client end of the application and manipulate the libraries
records (eg., new memberships, issuing titles, checking the status of a
particular title/member, etc.,) subject to the permissions given to him.

Other Software Required:

  MySQL (I have tested it on versions 3.23 and 4.1)
GTK+  (I have tested it on versions 2.4 and 2.6)
GNOME (I have tested it on versions 2.6 and 2.10)
