Description:

  GnuTrack shall once be Python-based software package that allows
pedestrians and cyclists (not limited to these) to harness the power of gps.
It consists of several parts complementing each other to allow different
functionality, depending on the needs of the user:

- The gps-receiver, which can already log to a network-stream, a logfile or
directly to another part of this suite.
- The gui-application which will come in various flavours (e.g. for normal
workstations, for pdas and for mobile phones etc)
- Plugins that allow further handling of data (e.g. a waypoint database, gis,
wireless network integration)

Currently, only the receiver is in development.

Other Software Required:
------------------------
  Python, tkInter, pygtk, pybluez and probably some more opensource python
libraries in the future. 
Right now I plan to implement a mobile client for Nokia's Series60 platform,
hoping this will not interfere with GNU-policies.

Other Comments:
---------------
  No released source yet. The gps-receiver is not yet very advanced, due to
exams and scarce time left over. This will change in a few weeks.
